Summary of Role: 

General repairs and maintenance over the Jupiter Artland site. Ensuring problems are fixed first time, top-quality workmanship and cost effective. Carry out a variety of planned and reactive building maintenance tasks which will be varied in nature.

Jupiter Artland is a world-class arts venue on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The 120-acre estate is filled with sculptures, installations and exhibitions, by artists such as Tracey Emin and Anthony Gormley. Key Responsibilities, Tasks, Duties:

• Interior/Exterior painting
• Basic plumbing and drainage work. Learning the systems so that planned preventative maintenance can be carried out.
• Ensuring light bulbs are check in all areas. 
• Blocked toilets/sinks
• Basic electrical work eg. changing fuses
• Building work – specific projects.
• Clean windows, gutters, pavements and other exterior surfaces. 
• Fire-wood is chopped, and log stores kept filled. 
• Liaising with suppliers, obtaining three quotes to ensure repair is cost effective. 
• Support and set up of events at Jupiter as part of the team.
• Liaison with deliveries and ensure safe arrival.
• Moving materials and equipment including some heavy lifting.
• Supporting the Events/Grounds/Exhibition team when required.
• Keeping a tidy and safe workplace at all times following Health and Safety rules. 
• Pat testing, keeping a log of areas completed and dates. 
• Ensure Fire Extinguishers are serviced annually. 
• Ensure tools and equipment is kept maintained and report issue to line manager. 
• Ensuring Artist House bins are empties, firewood replenished, and bath is cleaned for arrival of guests. 
• Conduct routine maintenance to prevent future breakdowns.
